Tubist Travis Roberson has appeared in Carnegie Hall, at the 2014 and 2016 International Tuba Euphonium Conference and the 2013 Washington D.C. Tuba Conference. He is currently based out of Memphis Tennessee.

Travis has performed with the University of Memphis Symphony Orchestra and Wind ensemble whilst during his tenure at the University of Memphis. He has also had performances with the Memphis Symphony Orchestra and the Memphis Repertory Orchestra. Shortly after arriving in Memphis, Travis joined the Memphis Second Line Jazz Band which performs traditional NOLA tunes with added Memphis soul. He also performs with Kicks n’ Licks Brass Band, Black Sea Flats - Memphis’ party band, and substitutionally with the Mighty Souls Brass Band.

Travis Roberson received an Artist Diploma and Master’s degree in tuba performance from the University of Memphis, in addition to his undergraduate degree in music education from Tennessee Technological University. Throughout his collegiate tenure, Roberson was the recipient of awards such as First prize in SERTEC’s Mock Band and Solo Competitions, collegiate Concerto Competitions Finalist, and selected finalist for the Mid-South U.S. Navy Fleet Band audition. Travis can be heard performing with the Tennessee Tech Tuba Ensemble on Evolutions as well as with the Tennessee Tech Symphony Band on New Frontier, both available via Mark Records.

Travis currently serves on faculty at Overton High School where he is Assistant Orchestra Director, Guitar, and Music Teacher in Memphis, Tennessee, also teaching tuba and euphonium lessons around the Memphis area. When not playing the tuba, he enjoys spending time outdoors trying to golf or fish, strumming his guitar, or under the hood, working on a project vehicle.
